Brand new winch GW501
Proud to announce our new winch generation.
Due to increasing safety requirements in the field of cable crane systems and constantly tightening exhaust emission standards for diesel engines, it was clear for us to further develop our well proven GW500 winch series. Like its predecessor, the new GW501 was also designed as a traction winch for cable crane systems operating in gravity or circular mode.
The winch consists of a modular design, which means that the winch unit can be operated with a diesel-hydraulic or an electro-hydraulic power unit, depending on the required energy supply and available diesel quality.
The drive units of the GW501 are now also modular itself– the hydraulic unit incl. the control system always remains the same and can be linked with either a diesel engine or an electric motor. The modular design of the winch has also been optimised so that in future it will be possible to dismantle the winch into units of max. 4,400 kg each.
Another innovation is the brake concept – the two independent brake systems, each designed as disc brakes, are used as a service brake (acting on the gear) as well as safety brake (acting on the drum). The individually controllable brakes enable a wide range of new possibilities – for example, the completely new control system includes a brake test that the operator can perform at certain intervals. This guarantees even more safety when operating the winch.
In addition to the usual options and accessories, such as circular drive, winding device, Lebus split sleeves and remote maintenance module, the new GW501 can be factory-typed for limited manpower transportation (depending on country-specific requirements).
