Penstock Palo Viejo

Cable crane system installed over a gorge up to 105 m deep for the construction of a penstock.

• For the construction of the Palo Viejo penstock, which leads through Guatemala, LCS installed a cable crane system with a payload of 10 to, to transport pipes and construction material. The system built for this project disposed of an extremely high lifting height, as it led over a gorge. Material could and had to be loaded and unloaded from an approx. height of 105 m in the up to 72° steep terrain. A pipeline for a hydro power plant with a pipe diameter of 3 m was installed.
