Semmering Base Tunnel

LCS shaft winch supports the construction of the Semmering Base Tunnel.

• In connection with the construction of the Semmering Base Tunnel LCS developed and manufactured a special winch for the transport of personnel and material in the tunnel. The electro-mechanical winch is equipped with a grooved drum which enables a multi-layer winding of the rope. Furthermore, the winch disposes of two safety brakes executed as disc brakes acting directly on the drum. The winch has both, a visual and a digital position indicator and an electrical shut-off in case of overspeed. It was designed and manufactured in accordance with the TAS 3 (Technical requirements for shaft and inclined conveyor systems).
