Uran Chakan Gas Pipeline

Cable crane system overcomes rocky terrain for the construction of a gas pipeline.

  • In the east of India the Uran Chakan Pipeline partly runs over up to 60° steep sections. One section that had to be overcome was approximately 1.1 km long and ran over rocky and steep terrain. To enable the construction of the pipeline in this environment, two cable crane systems from LCS were installed to position the pipes in a safe and environmentally sound way. The systems were a suitable solution due to the strict environmental regulations for the construction works in this area. For example, the ROW was only allowed to have a width of 8 m which was no problem to observe with the cable crane systems.
