Manantali Dam

Luffing cable crane system with an exceptional span of 1,620 m operates in West Africa.

  • The Manantali Dam was constructed by means of luffing cable crane systems of the company “Thyssenkrupp AG” in 1983. In 2020 LCS took over the technology of cable crane systems for the construction of dams and distributes them exclusively worldwide.

The two luffing cable crane systems for the Manantali Dam construction in Mali, West Africa disposed of a great span of 1,620 m. The 100 m high towers could be luffed by approx. 15° with multiple reeved luffing ropes driven by winches, which made a rectangular working area possible.
